Monday’s Water News: Austin Close to Lifting Swimming Ban After Sewage Spill

The City of Austin, Texas may lift a swimming ban for Bull Creek later this week that began on July 4 after 30,000 gallons of raw sewage overflowed from a nearby manhole.

A water main break in downtown Detroit has closed City Hall for the day.

Fall River, Massachusetts has reached a milestone having completed the southern and central portions of its combined sewer overflow project.

A water main break flooded some streets in the Carrick neighborhood of Pittsburgh this morning, leaving some residents concerned about damage to their homes and cars.

Stimulus Spotlight
The state of Connecticut will receive $19.5 million in federal stimulus moneyto upgrade the infrastructure for public drinking water in several cities and towns, including Ridgefield and Brookfield.
